12/5/18: Opie had his first fitting for his prosthetic at Cornell Veterinary Hospital. Update: Opie is being adopted by the President of Misfits, Maureen. His cast is off and he was just fitted for a preliminary prosthetic. Pics and a video to follow soon! Here is Opie sleeping in front of fireplace surrounded by his brothers.

9/8/18: Wow…what an August. Opie is @ 6 years old. Opie was walking on 3 legs (lost back right leg@ 4 years ago) when he found a trap with his 1 remaining back leg (left) this past July. He was stuck in this trap maybe for a month. Somehow, he made it back home with a severely injured left back leg by walking on his 2 front legs. Opie was to be euthanized when us Misfits were called. Staff at the vet office down south took excellent care of him and volunteers brought Opie to a nearby airport. Opie was flown by very generous pilots to Syracuse and we Misfits brought Opie to a local vet and then ultimately to Cornell veterinary college where Opie stayed almost 2 weeks. He has had a number of surgeries and will have numerous dressing changes and monitoring and medications for the next several weeks while he is fostered by our President of Misfits. He is not ready for adoption but we will keep you posted. Here are some pictures:
